MCA has supported Berkeley Group with design and consultancy for Highwood, a new residential development of over new 1000 homes to the West of Horsham, West Sussex.
As part of that development, MCA worked with Housing Association, Saxon Weald, to develop Highwood Mill, an 11,000 square metre, five-storey building with a mixture of over one hundred high quality one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments for people over 55 for rent and private sale. Residents live in their own apartments within a friendly community, with the reassurance that care and support is there if needed. The on-site restaurant and communal lounge provide plenty of opportunities for residents to socialise and get to know their neighbours. With an activity programme on offer and a mini bus that takes residents into Horsham, Highwood Mill makes a great place to live.
The development benefits from an efficient centralised boiler with a building-wide heat network to distribute heating and hot water around the building to all of the communal areas and to each apartment.
Highwood Mill was a finalist in the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.
